Description:
NSAIDs are very widely used for their anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anti-pyretic effects. Though a very popular group of drug, few patients suffer from gastritis, gastric bleeding, and ulcer formation, especially on chronic use – as NSAIDs block the formation of the protective PG E2, which normally protect the gastric mucosa. For such patients, who suffer from conditions which require regular use of NSAIDs (e.g. arthritis, spondylitis) a lower dose of the same NSAID which give them relief from their symptoms – may be better tolerated. Hence in chronic pain, for the first time in India low dose Diclofenac sodium 25mg is introduced. As diclofenac is directly active, and unlike aceclofenac, does not need to get converted to the active drug, even 25 mg of diclofenac will be more effective than 100 mg aceclofenac.
