Troypofol
- Propofol is a short acting general anaesthetic agent with
a rapid onset of action of approximately 30 to 40 seconds.
Recovery from anaesthesia is usually rapid. Propofol is highly
lipophilic and distributes rapidly into the CNS and other
tissues, which accounts for its rapid onset of action.
The
rapid clearance of Propofol is responsible for its lesser
severe hangover. Propofol allows for a quicker discharge of
a patient from the hospital. There is less post-operative
nausea and vomiting following anesthesia with Propofol.
